watching chucky, a drafty window, a wild imagination and an edgy coke-addict kid should do it. they should be the perfect ingredients for a whole winter lived in fear of the boogie fiend (in no way a friend) hidden under the bed.

i am 7. this christmas i got a huge lego game. the most perfect gift ever. i stayed up late putting the pirate island together. brother wanted to play, but he is childish and he ruins everything. not knowing the difference between pirates and french army is of utter importance. a scary movie was on. mum left me watching it while playing. the doll was alive. could it be possible… what if… maybe i will just let them sleep in the closet. it will be dark and cold. oh, poor ones. but cannot take any chances. yes. i will close them. there! i finished part of the island. mummy, don’t close the door. yes, a bit open would be perfect. it is so dark, but i need to go. my tummy hurts. but so dark. if i could see in the dark, what would i see?! under the bed. a fiend. a fiend of the night. not a friendly fiend, no. if i climb down the bed it will… catch my foot! noooo… can’t have that. i will jump. jump, yes. off the bed, one meter further away. perfect plan. it’ll never catch my leg this way. auch! barnacles!!!

i jumped. and hit my head. against the closet. and in that fraction of a second as my forehead was against the closet door i could hear their giggling laughter from inside.

  1. ruxi man, you have a perfect remake of “chucky” and “i know what you did last christmas” (summer) in a romanian-lego-closet way of things! :) if you’re afraid of the little lego pirates, try living with the huge mitica… way scarier!

  2. so right dude, so right… mitică is fuckin’ scary… but i locked the barbies in, not the pirates :D

  3. :) ) sorry dud, i was confused! :) )
